A wounderful route climbing to the summit of Great Gable over rough and rocky ground which can offers amazing views over Buttermere and higher fell tops taking in 6 over legendary fell tops along the way .

Starting at Gates Garth Farm we will cross a short field to walk on the good path up to Scarth Gap, this the pass between between Buttermere and Ennerdale from here we climb to the summit of Haystacks. Our first mountain top of the day from the summit we will follow the ridge eastwards taking in some of the amazing views of the land around us until we reach Innominate tarn and on to Moses trod path that will gently bring us up to Beck head and the pass between Great Gable and Kirk fell. From Beck head we climbing steeply to the summit of Great Gable, Back over the summit of Great Gable and will take the path descending towards Windy Gap then its short climb to the summit of Green Gable.
From Green Gable the path coninues down to Gillercomb head and onwards to Brandreth which your be happy to know is a nice easy ascent . From Brandreth the route follows the fence line to the summit of Grey Knotts and is nice flat which leaves us time to enjoy the views and admire the wonderful scenery
Our decent will be to the north west and drops down back on to the Moses trod path that we started our day on, Following the same track down to Drum house, crossing the tramway to climb up to to the Honister Quarries to meet the ridge by Black Star and follow it along to the summit of Fleetwith Pike. From here we will make our decent back down to the past the war memorial to the road side where we started our day
