Route Description

We will leave from the village of Grassmere via Eastdale road which will follow a path that goes up through some old quarries. We then ascend up to white crags which will lead to some grassy slopes that heads towards the summit. Before we get there we reach the rocky steps to the summit where the famous Howitzer is. You can climb over it or go round it totally up to how adventurous your feeling ( wainwright himself didn't manage to climb this).

For the descent we follow the ridge down to Bracken Hause with a zig zaggy path down to a wooden bridge near some spectacular waterfalls. We then hit the path that brings us to the helm side following onto the village where you can spend the rest of the day.
